There is something playful about the way your favorite fairytale  reads.  It takes you out of  cause and effect to the narrative of  just what comes next.

It all started with a fairytale while I was attending Pacific Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara California.  My entire family system fell into the story of Rapunzel a story my grandmother had given me years earlier.  Like Rapunzel I  am saved by my wandering.

I began the journey as a stay at home Mother for 20 years in Santa Barbara. During this time I earned my BA from UCSB and my Masters Degree from Pacifica Graduate Institute in  counseling psychology.

I  began my internship at  the House of the Murals facilitating art and music therapy with Manic Depressive and Schizophrenic  residents.

Then I followed my bliss as a play therapist in the elementary school and after school program at Girls Incorporated.

Santa Barbaras court mandated anger management groups were not interested in fairytales but we had some interesting discussions on Mothers Day. I also counseled women who were trauma bonded to men who had not rightful guilt for those they had harmed. We used Claudia Blacks book “Deceived” in writing out “Emotional Treason” time lines. Often their favorite fairytales were “Beauty and The Beast” and “Bluebeard The Pirate”

I SAW THE ANGEL IN THE MARBLE AND CARVED UNTIL I SET HIM FREE.
